Welcome to Derby English Classes

Following the success of previous English classes, we were awarded funding to write and deliver our own curriculum. The six week course will run throughout the year and is aimed at helping people to improve their spoken English and settle in Derby; we will be covering topics such as:

¨ Schools and Doctors

¨ Shopping, Banks and Money

¨ Council Services (inc. waste)

¨ UK Laws

¨ Employment, Jobs and Benefits

¨ Housing, Bills and Contracts

The courses are be taught by qualified teachers and supported by learning mentors. The learning mentors hope to build friendships with the students, provide a support to the teachers and an extra opportunity to practice speaking English.
